Alexandr Stoianoglo challenged the CSP's evaluation report

Suspended General Prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo will be removed from office after receiving an "unsatisfactory" rating from the Evaluation Commission.

After about half a year of work, the Superior Council of Prosecutors published the report of the Commission for the Evaluation of the Performance of the Suspended Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo. The document has 129 pages. The commission awarded Stoianoglo 2.19 points and a rating of "unsatisfactory". Under these conditions, the former General Prosecutor may be removed from office. Stoianoglo's performance appraisal commission was active from November to May.

During the meetings, which took place in a mixed format, members of the commission collected information and conducted interviews, including with prosecutors and with persons who held leadership positions in the General Prosecutor's Office and specialized prosecutors' offices. The document is due to be examined on Wednesday, May 18, by the Superior Council of Prosecutors, which could propose to the president of the country to dismiss Alexandr Stoianoglo from the position of General Prosecutor.

Meanwhile, the suspended general prosecutor, Alexandr Stoianoglo, challenged the evaluation report. His lawyer, Vasile Gafton, claims that "several illegalities have been admitted by some members of the Commission, and all the abuses committed will be indicated in the appeal".

We remind that Stoianoglo was detained in early October. He is being investigated on five counts such as abuse of office, misconduct, passive corruption and misrepresentation. Stoianoglo does not plead guilty. He is currently being investigated at large and is under judicial control.
