Fishing enthusiasts stormed the country's lakes and rivers

After the opening of the fishing season, the amateurs stormed the lakes and rivers of the country. Access remains restricted in areas with rare fish species. Also this year, the Environment Agency set clear rules for those who were looking forward to throwing their fishing rod in the water, Moldova 1 reports.

One of the rules is to keep the distance of ten meters between fishermen. At the same time, fishing enthusiasts are not allowed to catch more than five kilograms of fish in a single day. Those who do not comply will be fined, but police will patrol the lakes and rivers to prevent deviations.

Even though the season has been officially opened, fishermen are not allowed in some reservoirs and rivers. At the same time, the authorities ban the fishing of endangered species.

"There are also forbidden areas all year round, ie throughout the year, fishermen cannot fish. Namely, the bridges over the Dniester and Prut. At the moment, 23 species of fish are introduced in the Red Book, in particular, they are rare species, which practically cannot even be caught," said Vasile Drozdovschi, specialist at the Environment Agency.

The fishing season will be open until the beginning of the prohibition period, ie until spring, which will last 75 days.
