Beekeepers prepare bees for winter

With the onset of autumn, beekeepers are preparing for winter for bee families. This autumn with extremely warm temperatures in October could confuse beekeepers, but also bees. In conditions of quite hot weather, the specialists claim that measures must be taken in time to protect these insects, and the work of preparing the hives should be carried out as soon as the last honey extraction this year happens, reports Mesager.

Nicolae Popov from Cârnăţeni village, Causeni district, owns 30 bee families. The beekeeper began preparing the hives for the cold season.

According to the beekeeper, it is very important to check the food reserves for the whole winter and how these reserves are distributed.

Even in colder weather, bees must have water around. At the same time, beekeepers must check the hives for certain pests.

The owner loved bees since he was a child, but he has only been beekeeping for a few years.

The family is always by his side and supports him. In addition to beekeeping, the man also raises rabbits, nutria and other animals.
