Five unsupervised children identified in Russia, repatriated to Moldova
Five unaccompanied children identified on the territory of the Russian Federation will be repatriated to the Republic of Moldova. They will be provided mainly with family-type forms of protection. This was announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection on Friday, December 24.
During 2021, another 16 children were repatriated to our country from Russia, Poland and the USA. They benefited from various forms of protection, "respecting their best interests", the Ministry of Labor states.
"We inform you that between April 2007 and December 23, 2021, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection organized 230 missions, a total of 483 children being repatriated, of which 195 girls and 288 boys," the institution said in a statement.
According to the national legislation, the procedure for repatriation of unaccompanied children identified abroad is carried out on the basis of notifications received from the competent authorities of the destination country and is carried out with the support of the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Moldova.
