Conflict between residents and a construction company, after a playground was demolished. The reaction of the municipal authorities

They were left without the children's playground, after a real estate developer bought a plot of land nearby, on which he plans to build a 16-storey block. It is happening on Florilor Street, in the Râşcani sector of the capital, where the residents are terrified that in the area the construction of multi-storey buildings continues, despite the danger linked to a stone mine. Local authorities give assurances that slides and benches will be put in place soon, and those who are guilty will be held accountable, reports Moldova 1.

The conflict began on December 27, when residents of the 30/1 block on Florilor Street watched as strangers dismantled the fence and benches on the playground nearby. They called at Pretura Râşcani, where a manager promised that the dismantling would cease, until the legality of the sale of the land was verified.

Inhabitants argue that they are afraid of their safety, given that their block is just above the stone mine, which is flooded by groundwater.

The representatives of the Housing-Communal Direction of the capital's City Hall say that demolition of the playground is an illegal action, and the contractor will be sued.

People have signed a letter asking the mayor to investigate the legality of the sale of the land, as well as the building permit.
