Diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Andrei Caracu needs financial support
He is battling a terrible illness, and two children are waiting for him at home. We are talking about Andrei Caracu, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and urgently needs an expensive operation, and the family cannot get the necessary amount of money. Andrei Caracu has carried out several investigations abroad, and doctors say they could save his life. Thus, in order to donate the necessary amount of money, several platforms have been launched where people with a big heart can support his family. Statistics show that over the past year in our country over 50 thousand people were diagnosed with cancer. At the same time, 18,000 people lost their battle with the disease, Moldova 1 reports.
Andrei Caracu, 39, originally from the village of Gura Bîcului, Anenii Noi, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the end of this spring. The man is currently under investigation at a clinic in Turkey, and doctors have told him he will only survive if he undergoes surgery.
"We have already done some investigations, we have given some analyzes. Unfortunately, it does not help us to treat this aggressive sarcoma through chemotherapy or physiotherapy. It only saves us if we have surgery, but we have very little time available," mentioned Tatiana Caracu, Andrei's wife.
The Carau’s raise two children.
"Two wonderful children are waiting for us at home, one of whom is adopted. They both call us all day, they are waiting for us and: mommy, daddy, please come home," says Tatiana.
The family is desperate, because they need a large amount of money for the operation. Thus, a charity campaign to help the Caracu family was launched online.
"We have found doctors to help us treat and operate on this disease. We have great chances to save our husband, but we need a very large amount of money, $26,000," said Tatiana Caracu.
According to health professionals, oncological diseases are the second leading cause of death in our country, after cardiovascular disease. How to prevent and reduce the incidence of cancer was discussed at the fifth National Congress of Oncology.
"We need to strengthen the level of prevention of this disease, to strengthen to raise the level of patient satisfaction in the context of the medical act that is provided by specialists, to strengthen our efforts to truly develop the rehabilitation aspects and not to forget about the palliative care component," mentioned Viorica Dumbrăveanu, Minister of Health.
Experts estimate that by 2030, cancer deaths will increase to more than 13 million a year globally. Tobacco use, unhealthy eating, lack of physical activity, overweight, alcohol abuse and pollution are among the main factors that lead to the development of this condition.
