Autumnal Equinox 2021: Today, the day is getting shorter than the night
Today is the first autumn day from an astronomical point of view. This is because, at 11:20, the autumnal equinox will occur, when the day has a duration equal to that of the night. According to scientists, after this day, autumn is in full swing, and the weather is getting colder, Radio Moldova reports.
According to popular tradition, it is said that as the weather will be on this day, so will next year.
It is also said that if it rains this morning, September 22, spring will be rainy, and if it is sunny at noon, it will be a good year.
It is customary to collect the nuts, apples and quinces on this day of the autumnal equinox.
The popular tradition also tells us that, on this day, the flowers are upset and crying, and in order to remain beautiful and healthy throughout the winter, they must be anointed with holy ointment.
It is good for the people to prepare the first grape juice from freshly picked grapes on the day of the equinox.
It is said by the elders that those who have children are not allowed to quarrel with them.
Another superstition says that it is not good to wash your face until sunset. Instead, for the well-being of the home and family, it is good to eat bread before leaving the house.
