The National Federation of Farmers cancelled the protests announced for September 20

The National Federation of Farmers renounces the protests announced for September 20, according to a press release issued by the organisation, Radio Moldova reports.

The representatives of the Federation specify that following the actions taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, in response to the farmers' demands and following the consultations of the last few days with the members of the Federation, they decided to refrain from organising the previously announced protest.

TRM.MD recalls that on Tuesday, the National Federation of Farmers and the Farmers' Force Association announced that they were going to organise a protest action on September 20 with the agricultural equipment on the streets.

Farmers were dissatisfied that the authorities did not fulfil the three basic requests - the rescheduling of debts, the granting of fiscal facilities and the increase of funds for subsidising farmers affected by the drought. At the same time, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Vladimir Bolea, declared that all the demands of the farmers had been met.
