The allowance for raising the child will be 90% of the calculation basis
The Government has modified the Regulations for granting the paternal allowance and allowances addressed to families with children, according to a press release from the Executive.
Thus, in the Regulation on the method of establishing and paying the allowances addressed to families with children, the new option for granting the allowance for raising the child was included, namely its establishment in the amount of 90% of the calculation base, for a period of 12 months from the granting of childcare leave.
The other options also remain in force: 60% of the calculation base for the first 12 months after the child care leave was granted and 30% of the calculation base – for the following 12 months or payment of 30% of the calculation base until reaching the age three years of the child. The initially chosen option cannot be changed later.
The regulation regarding the conditions for establishing, calculating and paying the paternal allowance was amended in connection with the extension, from 56 days to 12 months, of the term in which fathers can request paternity leave of 14 calendar days.
The adjustments were made in connection with the entry into force, from September 1st of this year, of some measures addressed to families with children, intended to ensure the balance between the professional and personal life of the parents.
It should be noted that the mentioned measures are part of the "Family" governmental program, launched to support children and families with children in the Republic of Moldova.
