Moldovans visit more and more monuments and wineries

Moldovans visit more and more monuments and wineries. Tourism Agency data show that last year, domestic tourism grew by six per cent compared to 2017, reports Moldova 1.

People have begun to visit architectural monuments, museums and nature reserves more often in the country. One of the most visited tourist attractions in the last period is the Manuc Bei Mansion in Hancesti. The monument, built in the first half of the nineteenth century, has come to the brink in the early 90's and was restored in 2015. For three years, it was visited by one hundred thousand people.

Last year, through travel agencies, about 40,000 Moldovans organized their travels through the country. The real number of those who rediscover Moldova is much larger, say specialists, because many choose to explore the tourist sites on their own.
