Natalia Gavriliţa: In 2022 we continue to relaunch the economy
The governments of many countries realised that approaches need to be changed in order to move towards a sustainable economy. The Republic of Moldova has the chance to be on the wave in this transformation process. In 2022, let's confiscate the assets from theft and continue to relaunch the economy by attracting talent, entrepreneurs, investments, financing. This was the message of the Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa for the citizens on New Year's Eve.
"Despite the crises, Moldova is experiencing robust economic growth this year, with a forecast of a 10% increase in gross domestic product in real terms. A merit here belongs to the agricultural field - we had an almost ideal agricultural year, and the drought in other parts of the world raised the prices, which allowed our producers to earn well deserved amounts higher than they planned. There are other factors in this growth - labor productivity and consumption have increased, and the country has managed to attract generous foreign financing for the coming period, which has created optimism for investors and the financial system.
In 2022, first and foremost, I want peace and stability. Secondly, let's get rid of the pandemic and have good weather. Thirdly, to achieve what we set out to do and to put thieves in prison, to confiscate the assets accumulated from theft and to continue the recovery of the economy by attracting talent, entrepreneurs, investments, financing to Moldova. And I want these changes to be in step with the moral transformation that our country needs to ensure a better future for the new generations.
All mankind is undergoing great transformations. The governments of many countries have understood that approaches need to be changed in order to move towards a sustainable economy. Moldova has a chance to be on the wave in this transformation process. For the economy of the future, agriculture, green energy, IT, clean industrial production, innovation, education, health and creative industries will be extremely important. We have huge potential in all of these areas. In all these areas we are well positioned to attract investment and generate exports.
I wish 2022 to be a good year for us, to be a year in which to work, to learn, to enjoy our beloved, to earn more, to spend more sparingly, to invest and to trust each other ”.
