Japan will provide a grant to improve fire prevention equipment
The Republic of Moldova will receive a grant of 10.7 million euros from the Japan International Cooperation Agency. The financial means will be used to improve the fire prevention equipment. In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the signing of the Grant Agreement.
The document provides for the purchase of 9 special vehicles and 10 firefighting and release escalators, which will benefit the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. Also, according to the project, firefighters and rescuers will be trained to use the equipment.
According to the Interior Ministry, the endowment with equipment will contribute essentially to the increase of the security and safety of the population, will lead to the reduction of the response time in exceptional situations, as well as will contribute to the increase of emergency response performances.
The draft grant was signed on November 26, 2021 and aims to confirm the opening of the Government of Japan to provide the Government of the Republic of Moldova with non-reimbursable financial resources amounting to 10.7 million euros.
