Protest in the center of Chisinau against employers demanding vaccination against COVID-19
A group of citizens protested in central Chisinau against pressure from some employers to vaccinate them against the COVID-19 virus. Lawyer Iulian Rusanovschi considers this to be harassment and discrimination by employers, Moldova Moldova reports.
"We are protesting against the harassment, discrimination and pressure that is being applied on the persons employed to be vaccinated in proportion of 90 percent, according to the last order of the Ministry of Health. According to the Nuremberg Protocol, the person who wants to be vaccinated is free to do so, and those who do not want to, cannot be forced against their will ", mentions the lawyer Iulian Rusanovschi.
"We demand that we should not be forced and that people employed should not be discriminated against. Everyone has the right to free choice. According to the law, vaccination against COVID-19 is not mandatory today. I don't know why people are forced to work and threatened to be fired otherwise. We urge the authorities to appeal to employers not to be harassed and forced to write a request for dismissal ", says priest Gheorghe Porcescu.
Contacted by phone, the main communications consultant from the Ministry of Health, Cristina Stratulat, mentioned that vaccination in Moldova is not mandatory, but employers must encourage vaccination of groups to reach 70 percent immunization, so that we are resistant to the virus. .
"Vaccination against COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova is not mandatory, but we must be aware, each of us, how dangerous this pandemic, this virus, which lately has new strains, much more contagious and much more dangerous, and all people must beware of this virus, to be vaccinated. The Republic of Moldova provides the population with vaccines of all types that are safe, free and effective and people need to be aware of the danger and to be immunized ", said Cristina Stratulat.
