Republic of Moldova won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad
The Moldovan team won a silver medal, two bronze medals and three honourable mentions at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Oslo, Norway, on July 9-16.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the silver medalist was Dan Cernatinschi, a student at the "Orizont" Theoretical High School in Chisinau, the bronze medals were taken by Dragos Port, a student at the "Orizont" Theoretical High School in Chisinau and Marius Sclearuc, student at the Theoretical High School "Spiru Haret" in Chisinau, and honourable mentions were obtained by Valeriu Ursu, Victor Purice and Adelina Andrei, students at the Theoretical High School "Horizon" in Chisinau.
The International Mathematical Olympiad was attended by 579 students from 104 countries, the Republic of Moldova being represented by 6 students and 2 teachers.
