The situation in human rights field in Moldova, discussed in Geneva
The national delegation of the Republic of Moldova participates in a hybrid format in the 40th session of the United Nations Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights (EPU) in Geneva, which assesses the human rights situation in the Republic of Moldova. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), during the entire interactive dialogue, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova will present the national report and will answer questions from UN member states.
According to the quoted source, for our country, the UPR is an exercise of major importance, given that it takes place every five years, as well as in the context of the international commitments of the Republic of Moldova on the human rights dimension.
The Universal Periodic Review is a unique process that involves a review of human rights developments in all UN member states. Also, it is a process in which the state is involved, under the auspices of the UN Human Rights Council, which offers each country the opportunity to inform what actions it has taken to improve the human rights situation and to fulfill its obligations in this field.
