Three people have been arrested for rigging blood transfusion tenders
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office jointly with the Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating the abuse of office committed by public persons within the Republican Blood Transfusion Center (CRTS) and decision makers of the Public Procurement Agency. The actions take place in the context of a reasonable suspicion regarding the rigging of tenders in the field of blood transfusion.
At the same time, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office initiated an additional criminal investigation into an economic agent for attempted fraud. Thus, in participation with the CRTS management, he allegedly organized the installation of a plasmapheresis device inside the Municipal Hospital in Bălţi, which was to be financed from external funds. In reality, however, without being imported, the respective medical equipment was taken over from CRTS.
A communiqué of the General Prosecutor's Office announces that, within the criminal investigation actions carried out today, the prosecutors detained three people. It is about the head of CRTS and its lawyer, as well as a deputy director of the Public Procurement Agency.
The criminal investigation continues, and the prosecutor's office will come further with details.
