Omicron variant, found on the territory of the Republic of Moldova
The Omicron variant was also detected on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. An announcement in this regard was made by the Director of the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP), Nicolae Jelamschi.
"16 samples were pre-selected to be sequenced. Respectively, all these preselected samples were sequenced and the Omicron variant was detected. These cases were reported in 11 men and five women. We have a two-month-old baby and a pregnant woman," said Nicolae Jelamschi.
According to the ANSP director, out of these 16 people, nine are unvaccinated, eight people have mild forms and are treated at home, another eight people are hospitalized with moderate and severe forms.
