"TeleFilm - Chisinau" team is expected tomorrow in Soroca, where the documentary "The Great Theater in Soroca" will be released by the journalist Eugen Popovici.

"The Great Theater in Soroca" is a film about the Roma community in Soroca. Everything that happens in their lives, as if they were taken from a play," the author confessed.

Eugeniu Popovici told TRM.MD that he conceived the documentary through the view of two heroes to better reflect the characters and way of life of the Roma.

"A film about Nicolae and Pusca, the main heroes representing very well the characters, the way of thinking of the Roma, the way of living, the relations with the family, the society. The kid and the riddle bring us closer to the eccentric nature of the Roma on the Soroca hill," the author of the documentary said.

The film will be projected for the first time Thursday, September 6th at 19:00 at Soroca Fortress, the entrance is free.

On Friday, the team will travel to the village of Taul in Donduseni district for a new release. The town served as inspiration for journalist Lucia Taut who conceived the film "Covenant". It is a documentary about the inhabitants of this village who, under certain circumstances, have remodeled their destinies.

"During the Soviet period, students of different nationalities were sent from Moscow to study at an agricultural college located in a locality in northern Moldova. Thus, during the 70s and 80s of the last century, at the College of Taul, Donduseni district, young people, representatives of several ethnic groups from developing countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America, learned. At that time, several mixed families were formed in Taul, in most cases they broke up, the children being raised by a single parent or grandparents," says journalist Lucia Taut.

The protagonist of the film is Eduard Racu, with his father from the African the Cape Verde Islands, and the local native mother. Overwhelmed by emotions and longing for parents, Eduard Racu tells his life. From the age of nine, the boy was left in the care of his grandparents. Eduard's father returned to his native country immediately after graduation, and later his mother left for Russia.

"Throughout the film, Eduard Racu expresses the emotions he lived in childhood and the desire to see his grandmother in Cape Verde. He tells about the village where he was born, about the people who were next to him, about the grandparents who grew him up," Lucia Tăut said.

The "Big Theater in Soroca" and "Covenant" documentaries are produced at "TeleFilm - Chisinau" studio under the project "Promoting Media Freedom and Pluralism in the Republic of Moldova", supported by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

TRM.MD recalls that the activity of the "TeleFilm - Chişinău" studio was relaunched on 20 February 2018.
