TRM has opened the submissions for Etapa Naţională

On November 19, the Public Institution "Teleradio-Moldova" opened song submissions to choose the representative of Moldova at Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will take place in the Swiss city of Basel. The deadline by which performers and bands can submit their application is December 27, 2024 at 05:00 p.m.

The applications will be examined by the Organizing Committee of Etapa Naţională until January 15. The songs must be original, not have been released before September 1, 2024, and be no longer than 3 minutes.

After that, the contestants whose applications meet all the requirements will be admitted to the live auditions, organized between 15 January - 5 February 2025. The finalists will be selected by a specialized jury, who will give a score from 0 to 12 points, based on the following criteria: melodic line, interpretation and originality of the song.

The National Final, where the winning song will be chosen, will take place between February 20-28 and will be broadcast live on TV Moldova 1. According to the Regulation of the National Selection, the songs will be juried in the proportion of 50% jury vote and 50% public vote. In case of a tie, "the Organizing Committee, after consultation with the jury, will decide on the winner. In all cases, the designation and announcement of the Moldovan  representative to ESC 2025 will be made after validation of the results by the Organizing Committee."

Last year, the Republic of Moldova was represented by Natalia Barbu with the song “In The Middle”. The performer placed 13th in the Semifinal, with a total of 20 points, thus missing the qualification to the Final of the music competition.

The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place from May 13 to 17, 2025. The Semifinals will be held on 13 and 15 May, and the winning country will be announced on 17 May.
