2. Data we may process

  • Technical and security data: IP address, access date and time, requested address, response code, browser/device identifier and referring page when transmitted.
  • Consent preference: accepted categories, language, selection date and a random identifier. This information is stored only in your browser.
  • Newsletter subscription: email address and selected language.
  • Contact/feedback form: your name, email address and message.
  • “Send Your News”: name, email address, telephone number, subject, message and form language. The message is not published automatically.
  • TRM media-services survey: age group, gender, locality, preferences, opinions and free text you provide, together with technical transmission data. The survey does not directly request a name or contact details, but a combination of answers may permit indirect identification.
  • Data sent to external services: only after consent to the relevant category, the selected service may receive your IP address, browser/device information and interaction data.

Please do not provide another person’s data or sensitive data unless necessary. If you send journalistic material, its processing may continue for editorial and archival purposes, subject to the safeguards and statutory exceptions for freedom of expression and information.

We do not sell visitor data and do not enable advertising storage, ad personalisation or advertising profiles through the trm.md consent module. We do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal effects for visitors.

5. External services and recipients

Simply opening a page does not start optional services. After consent or your explicit request, we may use:

  • YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Vimeo for video;
  • Facebook/Meta for the comments module;
  • Scribd to display embedded documents;
  • Google Search for search and Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms;
  • Google Forms to collect responses to the TRM media-services survey;
  • Google Tag Manager to manage accepted measurement tools.

Privacy-enhanced mode limits storage before playback but does not make the service anonymous: once activated, an external provider may receive the IP address, device information and interactions. External providers may process data in other countries under their own policies and lawful transfer mechanisms. See the Google, Vimeo, Meta and Scribd policies.

Within TRM, access is granted only to people who need the data for technical administration, public relations, subscriptions or editorial work. Data may be disclosed to public authorities when required by law.

6. How long data is kept

  • cookie preference: no more than 182 days in the browser;
  • technical logs on public servers: generally no more than 14 days, except isolated records retained longer to investigate an incident or meet a legal obligation;
  • newsletter subscription: until unsubscription, withdrawal of consent or termination of the service; minimal proof of withdrawal may be retained for as long as needed to honour the request;
  • messages and submissions: until they are resolved, then for the period required by archiving rules, the defence of rights and applicable obligations;
  • responses to the media-services survey: until the analysis is completed and only for as long as needed for the stated purpose; they are then aggregated, de-identified or deleted;
  • material selected for journalistic or archival use: according to the editorial purpose, the public interest and applicable archiving rules.

7. Your rights

Subject to Law No. 195/2024, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability and may object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Rights may be limited by statutory conditions and exceptions, including those concerning freedom of expression and information, archiving and the public interest.

Send your request to trm@trm.md. We may ask only for information reasonably necessary to identify you. We respond without undue delay and generally within one month; this may be extended by up to two months for complex or numerous requests, and we will inform you.

If you believe your data was processed unlawfully, you may complain to the National Centre for Personal Data Protection: 48 Serghei Lazo Street, MD-2004, Chișinău; centru@datepersonale.md; +373 22 820 801; datepersonale.md.

8. Security, children and changes

We apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risks, including access controls, updates, security logs and backups. No online transmission can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free.

The site serves a general audience. Minors should not submit unnecessary personal data through forms; where appropriate, we recommend involving a parent or legal representative.

We may update this policy when services, technologies or legal requirements change. The current version date is shown at the top. A change affecting optional choices will cause consent to be requested again.

This policy is read together with Law No. 195/2024 on personal data protection.
