TRM hosts EBU News Contacts Meeting 2025 in Chisinau
From May 26-28, “Teleradio-Moldova” is hosting, for the first time, the annual meeting of public media professionals - EBU News Contacts Meeting 2025. The event, organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), brings to Chisinau representatives of leading European media institutions and promotes collaboration, innovation and excellence in public journalism.
During the three days of the event, more than 100 journalists, editors and newsroom leaders will take part in sessions dedicated to the most topical challenges and transformations in public media, from covering the war in Ukraine and the US elections to the use of artificial intelligence and fact-checking in modern newsrooms.
The official opening will take place on May 27 at the Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel, with the participation of TRM's General Director, Vlad Ţurcanu, the TRM team and EBU representatives. The agenda includes presentations and workshops by experts from the BBC, RTBF (Belgium), ZDF (Germany), ORF (Austria), RTVE (Spain), NOS (Netherlands), HRT (Croatia) and UA:PBC (Ukraine).
Participants will also have the opportunity to discover Moldovan culture through a social program including a welcome cocktail at TRM headquarters and an official visit to Cricova - a veritable tourist and wine pole of attraction of the Republic of Moldova, recognized for its unique underground galleries and excellent winemaking tradition.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is the largest alliance of public media organizations in the world, bringing together 113 members from 56 countries. The EBU is known for its news exchanges (EVN), the promotion of ethical journalism and events such as Eurovision Song Contest.
“Teleradio-Moldova” is the national public broadcaster of the Republic of Moldova, member of the EBU since 1993.
