TRM implements safeguarding policy in partnership with BBC Media Action

Over 100 employees of the Public Institution "Teleradio-Moldova" (TRM) are participating in training sessions on March 12-13, focused on the implementation of the safeguarding policy within TRM. The initiative is part of the project "MOL: Supporting TRM's Transformation", realized in collaboration with BBC Media Action, following the agreement signed in 2023 with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The safeguarding policy is a set of measures and procedures designed to protect employees, contributors and the public from all forms of abuse, harassment, exploitation and discrimination. It ensures an environment based on respect, tolerance, safety and equality, reinforcing ethical and professional standards in media organizations.

"It is our responsibility to provide a workplace where every employee and contributor feels protected and respected. By implementing the safeguarding policy, we aim to strengthen an organizational culture based on ethics, transparency and trust," said Andrei Zapşa, deputy general director (development) of TRM at the event.

Florina Balin and Raluca Fervain-Slămnescu, the trainers of the BBC Media Action's safeguarding policy training program, support the idea that safety and respect are fundamental to a healthy and productive working environment. "We very much want what happens during these two days of training to serve the organization, so that employees and everyone who interacts with TRM feel safe and understand that their rights are respected, and their productivity and relevance to the public will increase," the trainers said.

Teleradio-Moldova is the main public provider of audiovisual media services in the Republic of Moldova, with a mission to inform, educate and inspire the public with quality content.
