The pandemic cannot keep farmers in the house, as one spring day feeds one year. Thus, equipped with gloves and protective masks, the mechanics started sowing agricultural crops, such as sunflower and corn, reports Mesager.
Vladimir Eremita owns 300 hectares of land in the village of Voloviţa in Soroca. Last fall he planted 20 hectares of rapeseed and 100 hectares of wheat. Now, the farmer started sowing the sunflower seeds on an area of 65 hectares. The farmer says he has taken all precautionary measures recommended by specialists.
The mechanic Valeriu Nitrean claims that the earth is its only source of existence.
"The earth feeds us, that no one feeds us, if we work the land, we will have bread, we must do the works in time, if not we might lose everything, there is little moisture in the ground ”, said Valeriu Nitrean, mechanizer.
"We have already started sowing, so as not to lose this moisture that is more surface," said Vladimir Eremita, farmer.
This year, nearly 960,000 hectares of land will be sown. The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment announces that last autumn about 320 thousand hectares of wheat, 46.5 thousand hectares of barley and 23 thousand hectares of rapeseed were sown.
