ANRE will examine on November 9 the request of Moldovagaz to increase the tariffs for natural gas
The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) will meet on Tuesday, November 9, to examine Moldovagaz's request to increase natural gas tariffs, said the head of the Institution's Communication Service Galina Sanduţa, Radio Moldova Actualitati reports.
The chairman of the Moldovagaz Board of Directors, Vadim Ceban, says that the request sent by ANRE regarding the increase of the gas tariff by 2.5 times is based on the gas purchase price. The company sent ANRE the request regarding the increase of tariffs for final consumers - from 4.29 lei to 10.26 lei. The figure does not include VAT, which would increase the tariff up to 11 lei. The calculated tariff is based on 90% of the purchase price of the gas.
According to a provision issued by the Commission for Exceptional Situations, "Moldovagaz" will submit a request to the Energy Regulatory Agency in order to adjust the regulated prices for the supply of natural gas. Respectively, until November 10, ANRE will have to establish new provisional tariffs, which will be applicable from November 1, 2021, the Government announced in a communiqué.
At the same time, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection is to prepare a set of measures to offset natural gas bills for some categories of citizens.
