The NBM launches a commemorative coin of 10 lei on the occasion of the State Flag Day

The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) is currently issuing a coin with a nominal value of 10 lei, on the occasion of the State Flag Day, marked in the Republic of Moldova on April 27.

This is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the tricolor and completes, overall, the series of commemorative circulation coins, which also includes two such coins. The first was issued by the NBM in 2018, when 25 years have passed since the introduction of the national currency, and the second - in 2019 on the occasion of 30 years since the adoption of the laws on the state language and Latin spelling.

The new currency will circulate in parallel with the 10 lei banknote and the metallic coin with the same face value, including the commemorative coins, from the 2018 and 2019 issue.

The obverse of the coin shows in the central plane the stylized image of the tree tricolor, in which the State coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova is framed, and the inscription in a circle arch: "30 YEARS FROM THE ADOPTION OF THE TRICOLOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA".

On the reverse side, engraved in a circle arc are 30 stars that symbolize 30 years since the adoption of the tricolor, in the central plane - the nominal value "10 LEI" and at the top - the year of the emission "2020".

The coin contains the monogram from the letters "R" and "M" - acronym of the state name - "Republic of Moldova", in latent image.
