Buyers, dissatisfied with increased prices
People in the country leave the country and there is no one to process the land. That is the explanation made by sellers in the markets lately on increases of prices in vegetables and fruits. Buyers say they are shocked by such prices, reports Moldova 1.
Sellers and buyers say prices have risen since domestic products are few, many are imported and the fact that people go abroad and there is no people to work on land directly affects the cost of agricultural products.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the prices for vegetables grew on average by over 31 percent in contrast to the same period last year. Potatoes have grown the most. A kilo of last year potatoes can be bought now with 17 lei, and this year’s are sold with 35 lei for one kilogram. Meat prices, especially of sheep and goat also increased by 26 percent and poultry by around 12 percent.
