Moldovans send less money home
Moldovans from abroad send less money home. Last year, a sum of $ 1.22 million was sent the country - by 3.5% less than in 2018, show data of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), reports Mesager.
Of the European Union states, transfers from Italy had the highest share - 26.4%, followed by transactions from Germany – 17% and from the UK- 15%.
The CIS transfers come mainly from Russia- 95%.
BNM data show that over half of the money - 56.4% were transferred in euros and 40.5% in dollars.
