Moldova will receive financial assistance to combat land degradation
Moldova will receive about $ 1.5 million to combat land degradation. The money is offered by the Food and Agriculture Organization of Rome, and the project could start in early 2020, reports Radio Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, the project aims to ensure an efficient management of agricultural lands, so that they provide essential ecosystem services for the livelihood of the population, for local and national development and for environmental sustainability.
These activities include the introduction of innovative practices of smart climate agriculture and sustainable land management at the confluence of the Nistru-Cogilnic rivers, in Orhei and Rezina. The results of the activities will be disseminated within the framework of actions to raise awareness of the importance of soil conservation and the efficient management of natural resources.
