The drought has affected the harvest of people in rural areas

This year's drought has affected not only farmers who own entire hectares of land, but also compromised the harvest of simple households. Even though the villagers regularly irrigated their gardens, this was not enough, as all the vegetables dried up. Housewives have nothing to fill their pantries with as in previous years and are forced to buy winter supplies from the market, Moldova 1 reports.

If in the previous years, during this period, there was a lot of hustle and bustle in the households from the country, this summer, people found themselves without a harvest.

Earlier this week, the government announced new support measures for farmers. Thus, the VAT refund mechanism will be simplified, the moratorium on fiscal controls will be established, and the state will undertake to subsidize interest on loans taken by farmers. A draft law in this regard has been drafted and submitted for approval to the International Monetary Fund. The document is to be approved at the Government meeting and sent to the Parliament for adoption. The head of state, Igor Dodon, previously announced that villagers will also receive compensation, where the harvest was compromised by this year's drought.
