December temperatures will affect the harvest of cereal crops, experts say
The unusual high temperatures for December that were recorded last week will affect the crop of cereals, especially autumn ones. At the same time, the trees could suffer. These statements were made by the doctor in agricultural sciences, Pintilie Pârvan, for Moldova 1, Radio Moldova reports.
"95 percent of the autumn crops were sown later than the optimum terms and entered the winter immature - the greatest danger, because the matured winter crops have a resistance, the immature have a completely different resistance. At multi-annual plantations I would not recommend to rush with the cleaning of orchards and vineyards. With the autumn crops in the spring, it will be decided after careful analysis what the condition is, either they will be thickened or sown," said the doctor in agricultural sciences, Pintilie Parvan.
