"Diplomatic dimension": Moldovan diplomas could be recognized in Ireland
The Irish authorities are examining the possibility of equating Moldovan education documents and driving licences. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence from Ireland, Simon Coveney, during the "Diplomatic Dimension" show on Moldova 1.
Moldovan educational documents and driving licences could be recognized in the Republic of Ireland, as mentioned by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence of Ireland.
"Yes, we are working on these issues, this means permanent communication between different authorities in Ireland and Moldova. When it comes to higher education, we are looking for ways for universities in Ireland and Moldova to recognize each other's diplomas," the official said.
Regarding driving licences, in Ireland there is a different regime for testing drivers, compared to the Republic of Moldova. The Irish authorities have communicated what will be necessary to be able to create a mutual recognition of driver's licences.
At the same time, Simon Coveney mentioned that he is working together with the Irish communication department on reducing roaming charges: "We know that this is a high cost for many Moldovans when calling family and friends".
The official also said that they are working on the above-mentioned aspects and want to offer all their support to approx. 30,000 Moldovan citizens settled in Ireland.
