The Executive approved a new loan agreement for the Republic of Moldova
During today's meeting, the Cabinet approved a new loan agreement for the Republic of Moldova, worth 24.8 million euros. The money will be provided to our country by the International Development Association in the fight against the new type of Coronavirus.
According to the draft law, the Financing Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Development Association on the project "Emergency Response to COVID-19 - Additional Financing" aims to provide a loan to the Republic of Moldova, worth 24.8 million euros.
The money will be used to support the implementation of the anti-COVID-19 immunization process at the national level, through the purchase of vaccines, investments in cold chain systems, medical waste management, health information systems, as well as technical assistance to strengthen capacity to implement the immunization process.
The agreement was signed by the President of the Republic of Moldova on August 9, 2021, and the deadline for implementation of the above-mentioned project is April 30, 2023.
The agreement is to enter into force after its ratification by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
