Maia Sandu: EU welcomes the decisions taken yesterday by the Parliament of Moldova

Maia Sandu welcomes the statement by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn on the political situation in the Republic of Moldova. According to the statement, "The EU welcomes the decisions taken yesterday by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova".

"As a true partner of our country, the EU welcomes the decisions taken yesterday by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for the benefit of the citizens of the country. We are confident that similar messages from all our international partners will follow. Both our foreign partners and citizens want a legitimate and democratic government to ensure the implementation of all the commitments made by the Republic of Moldova, first of all, the Association Agreement with the EU. Unlike the former Government, we will honor all the commitments on reforms and the fundamental principles set out in the Association Agreement. Respect for the rule of law, democracy and human rights are very important for our relationship with the European Union. We appreciate and share the EU's call for calm and restraint", said Maia Sandu.

Also, Maia Sandu called for the representatives of the parliamentary opposition for discussions and said that the parliamentary majority is open to this.
