The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, about the visit to Chisinau: "A very warm, sincere and meaningful welcome"

The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, claims that she had a "warm, sincere and meaningful welcome" in her first visit to Chisinau. In an exclusive interview for the public television channel, Moldova 1, the MEP sent a message to the Moldovan citizens, confirming the full support given by the European institution that she leads to our country. "We will not disappoint you," the head of the European legislature assured Moldova 1 viewers.

"First of all, ever since I took over the presidency of the European Parliament, I wanted to visit the Republic of Moldova. I had a very warm, sincere and meaningful welcome. First, I wanted to receive the requests from the Moldovan authorities, the students and young people I met, who expressed their desire to be part of the European Union family and for this showed their commitment to fulfil all the necessary objectives and to continue the important path they started. (...) In addition to financial and political support, the European Union must send messages of total cooperation", declared the President of the European Parliament.   

Roberta Metsola also came with a message for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, which she assures of the full support of the European Parliament.

"I want to convey a message of hope, solidarity and full support: the European Parliament is Moldova's strongest ally. We will continue to be with you, we will not let you down", told the head of the European legislature, Roberta Metsola, the "Diplomatic Dimension" show, from Moldova 1.

TRM.MD recalls that the President of the EP, Roberta Metsola, undertook an official visit in the Republic of Moldova on Friday, November 11, one day after our country was visited by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The two European officials had meetings with the top management of the country, during which they confirmed the EU's support for the Republic of Moldova, in the context of the multiple crises they are facing.
