The Presidents of Romania, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland welcome the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the European integration process

The Presidents of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, Latvia, Egils Levits and Poland, Andrzej Duda, welcome the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the integration process European. In a joint statement on regional security and European integration, adopted on Friday, November 25, the four heads of state reconfirmed their commitment to strengthen joint efforts to support the European integration of our country.

According to the Presidency of Romania, with this statement, the four heads of state support the decisions of the European Council to accelerate the EU enlargement process regarding the countries of the Western Balkans, based on their progress in implementing the accession requirements.

The text of the document also emphasises the need for additional joint efforts to strengthen the security, stability and resilience of the Republic of Moldova, as an important contribution to strengthening regional security.

Also, the presidents of Romania, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland welcomed the significant achievements of Ukraine in advancing on the path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The four heads of state confirmed, through this statement, the assumed commitment to strengthen joint efforts in supporting Ukraine's integration into the Alliance and the implementation of NATO standards.

The text of the declaration also underlines the willingness to collaborate with Georgia in order to grant the status of a candidate country as soon as the priorities specified in the European Commission's opinion regarding Georgia's application for accession will be addressed and the support for the decisions of the European Council to accelerate the EU enlargement process regarding the countries of the Western Balkans, based on their progress in implementing the accession requirements.
