Romania blocked the adoption of an EU document containing criticism about Moldova
The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) in Bucharest states that Romania did not consider the conditions for a critical report to be adopted in the Foreign Affairs Council about Moldova are met. The reaction comes after information in the media that Romania has blocked plans to adopt conclusions on the Republic of Moldova in the Foreign Affairs Council, Radio Moldova reports.
"Romania will continue to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova and to promote the need to implement the reforms assumed in the relationship with the European Union. Also, as a EU member state, Romania is fully committed to promoting common EU policies in its relations with Moldova, contributing with its own expertise and assistance projects in the process of strengthening the political association and economic integration between the EU and the Republic of Moldova , in line with the joint commitments assumed based on the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade", reads a press release of the MAE in Bucharest, quoted by Mediafax.
