Comrat Court of Appeal suspended the law allowing the use of the Saint George ribbon in UTA Gagauzia

The Comrat Court of Appeal annulled the law allowing the use of the Saint George ribbon on the territory of the Gagauzia Autonomy, Radio Moldova reports.

A few days ago, the mayor of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, promulgated the decision of the local legislative in Comrat to make the St. George Ribbon "legal" in the UTA Gagauzia  region.

"Moldovan democracy is very fragile. And this fragility directly affects the unity of the people of the Republic of Moldova. Political polarization has divided the Moldovan people into groups, which often seem dangerously radicalized. The subject of the Saint George ribbon is not about Irina Vlah. This issue, first of all, is about the decision of a political group to apply a legal ban, without consulting the opinion of the society ", Irina Vlah reacted on her socializing page.

We remind that last month, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova banned this symbol, along with several others, such as the Z and V signs, which are associated with Russian aggression in Ukraine.
