A method of saving the thermal energy will be implemented in the Straseni district

Heat costs us in the winter, so any method of keeping it is welcome. Some energy efficiency specialists claim that the current invoice value can be reduced by 30 percent if the windows are covered with polycarbonate, generally used in the construction industry. A school in Straseni district is already in the process of implementing such an energy efficiency project, TV Moldova 1 reports.

Because it is known that 40-60 percent of room heat is lost through windows, Valeriu Damaschin, who is a specialist in energy efficiency, recommends people to cover the window glass with transparent thermoplastic sheets. This method is widely used abroad but is less well known to us, says the expert.

"We take a net against insects and on it we screw in transparent cellular polycarbonate. As a result, we have a capacity to isolate homes. This panel can be applied to any window surface and as a result we have the thermal insulation of the house. The window does not boast, the sun's rays penetrate the room, heats the room," said Valeriu Damaschin, an efficiency specialist.

This method of saving the thermal energy will soon be implemented at the School of Fine Arts in Cojusna where, after a feasibility study, a community project will be developed. Cojuşna School of Fine Arts teacher Tatiana Jereghi says she advocates this economic solution for the benefit of students.

"Preserving the thermal energy for me as a director has a priority. I changed the windows with modern frames, I set myself the task of entering into a project for energy conservation in addition. That money that will be saved from this project to invest in purchasing the costumes," said Tatiana Jereghi.

At the School of Fine Arts in Cojusna 150 students are studying.
