Despite previous forecasts, winegrowers anticipate a good harvest of grapes

Video screenings, meetings with directors and discussions in creative laboratories. For five days, the city of Cahul hosts the "Moldox" international documentary film festival. During the event, topical films are shown, including on the topic of migration and the conflict between generations. The 7th edition of the "Moldox" festival began with the screening of a film about Ukraine by American director Katya Soldak, Moldova 1 informs.

Director Katya Soldak made a film about Ukraine back in 2020. The author presents the events in this country through the prism of the life of a Ukrainian woman who left her native places in her youth.

"I am happy to be here, to present the film to you. This film has become more relevant since Russia started the war against Ukraine," said director Katya Soldak.

The public and the participants of the festival carefully followed the events of the program.

"Of course it's very interesting for all the inhabitants of Cahul, that is, to be inspired by other films, with other themes from other countries", said the resident of Cahul.

"This year the theme of the films is about change and the difference between generations and how they have evolved, they are documentary films about refugees, about the war in Ukraine", said Andreea, a volunteer.

The organisers claim that the event has become a tradition for this region and enjoys great interest from the participants.

"The Moldox Festival is in its 7th edition, it happens every year in Cahul at the end of summer or at the beginning of autumn, it is not an innovation for the people of Cahul, yes of course and we have grown over time, that's why we are much more big and much more visible", said organiser Ana Gurdiş.

"Moldox is about people and new experiences. The theme of this edition is about generations and gaps between generations", said the director of the festival, Maxim Cîrlan.

"I think that the Moldox festival is already very well established. I want to thank them a lot, especially Sweden, the Netherlands, of course Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic, countries that support this important festival through cultural cooperation institutes or diplomatic missions", said the mayor of Cahul, Nicolae Dandis.

The "Moldox" international documentary film festival takes place in Cahul between August 24-28.
