The balance of the projects implemented in 2021 by the Chisinau City Hall: What did not succeed and what is next?
The modernization of the parks, the purchase of new public transport units, the rehabilitation of the educational institutions and the arrangement of the block courtyards are just a few projects that were carried out in 2021 by the Chisinau City Hall. The capital's administration has assured that several other projects initiated in 2021 will be completed this year, reports Moldova 1.
In 2021, the municipality bought 240 public transport units for routes for the capital and suburbs. The total value of the acquisition was about 315 million lei. For the year 2022, 190 million lei have been allocated from the municipal budget for the purchase and assembly of buses and trolleybuses.
"Out of the total of 240 units that were brought, 82 are trolleybuses, we have articulated trolleybuses, we have regular trolleybuses, we have battery-operated trolleybuses with autonomous route," specified the mayor of the capital Ion Ceban.
Also in 2021, in Chisinau, the pilot project on the electronic charging system in public transport was launched.
"We have about 15 percent of payments made online or electronically in the other pilot project and this figure is increasing, this is very beneficial. Our goal is to reach 30 percent of the payments to be made electronically in 6 months," says Ceban.
In 2021, the inhabitants of the capital enjoyed the renovation of several squares and parks. These are the “Grigore Vieru” Alley, the “Alunelul” Park, the Youth Square, the park from Cuza Vodă Street as well as some other green areas in the city.
"There are a lot of ongoing projects, for all the projects, we asked for them to be technically responsible, for technical supervision to ensure the execution of the qualitative works," said Ilie Ceban, deputy mayor.
In September 2021, after a capital rehabilitation, the road traffic on Ion Creangă Street in the capital was reopened. The project, which started in March last year, cost about 70 million lei.
"The first part of the works will include, as I said, the reality of the underground infrastructure. So, from here to Belinschi Street, works are to be carried out and these works are to start in 2-3 weeks," says the mayor.
After several months in which the capital was full of potholes, the mayor's office stated that it had problems purchasing hot asphalt. Eventually, however, the asphalting work began.
"One of the most pressing problems remains this intervention on the road surface. The problem is not only in Chisinau, the problem is all over the country. It is not yet the economic agents that provide services that we can procure hot asphalt today," Ion Ceban claims.
At the same time, last year, 35 block courtyards were set up in the capital, and 14 educational institutions in Chisinau benefited from the repair of the roof and facade as part of a thermal insulation project for buildings and the achievement of energy efficiency.
"I hope that with the thermal insulation, these problems of heat and electricity will disappear, which will be changed, the windows will all be overhauled, being that we are still in the 21st century," emphasized Ana Gheoirghiţă, the high school principal.
In 2021, out of the 20 underground passages in the capital, only a few were repaired, some still in the process of being repaired, others remaining in a deplorable condition.
