Chisinau: More than 300 people have died in the last week of COVID-19

The number of daily cases of COVID-19 in Chisinau is declining, but there is an extremely high number of deaths caused by the pandemic virus. The announcement was made by the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, during the weekly meeting of the mayor's office services. The mayor also announced that the beds for patients with COVID-19 had been supplemented, and the "Holy Trinity" Hospital had been divided into two blocks, the COVID-19 block and the non-COVID block, Moldova 1 reports.

Mayor Ion Ceban mentioned that last week was the highest level of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, over 300 people died. According to Ceban, at present, municipal hospitals are not overloaded, because enough beds have been installed to hospitalize patients.

"Specialists attest to a decrease in the number of daily infections, which makes us happy and generates optimism. The pressure on the municipal hospitals that hospitalize patients with COVID has decreased. Now we have free beds because we did everything possible for things to go as smoothly as possible," said the mayor.

City officials have issued a new call for immunization. The representatives of the Capital City Hall consider that mobile vaccination points should be arranged, with the participation of specialists from Chisinau, who will travel all over the country to inform, consult and vaccinate the citizens.
