The Court of Auditors could carry out an audit in the field of natural gas
For the first time, the economic agents working in the field of natural gas will be subject to the audit of the Court of Accounts! The decision approved today by the Cabinet of Ministers will be applied from next year. According to the authorities, the action is necessary in the context of ensuring the country's energy security, reports Moldova 1.
"The project aims to bring capital and investment compliance by the court of accounts to companies and entities in the field of natural gas in order to ensure that activities, financial transactions are in accordance with applicable regulations," said Dumitru Budeanschi, Minister finance.
According to the Government's decision, the conduct of the audit requires derogations from two laws, which currently do not allow such exercises in enterprises in which the state is not a majority shareholder, as is the case of Moldovagaz.
Earlier, authorities announced that they intend to audit the Moldovagaz administration over the alleged $700 million debt claimed by Gazprom.
