Moldova 1 team, in a visit to the National Institute of Metrology
The profession of metrologist is one of the oldest and most useful professions, this was understood by the team of the public television station, which visited the National Institute of Metrology. Specialists in this field ensure the credibility of all measurements made in the Republic of Moldova. Thus, thanks to metrologists, we find out the exact time, volume, length and pressure, reports Moldova 1. On May 20, the International Metrology Day was marked.
The National Institute of Metrology has a total of eight laboratories. In one of these rooms is checked the gas pressure but also the degree of cleanliness in the pharmaceutical industry.
"We transmit the unit to those means that measure the pressure, are the manometers that are widely used in gas contracts, to check the gas pressure," said Tatiana Apostol, head of the Pressure Laboratory.
According to specialists, each laboratory has its own destination and importance.
"In the given laboratory, the national standard is present, liquid flows. It is used, first of all, for calibrations, tests and metrological expertise," specified Victor Gruşca, head of the Volume Laboratory.
"We are measuring length. I liked this field from the beginning and I think I made the right decision," said Cristina Munteanu, engineer.
"In the morning you wake up and you have a set meeting time, at eight o'clock, so that you know exactly that it is eight o'clock, this is coming from us. The social impact, the economic impact, the impact of eliminating trade barriers, these are the values provided by the National Institute of Metrology," said Alexei Pianîh, director of the Metrology Institute.
Globally, national metrology institutes are constantly advancing, performing the most sophisticated and important measurement techniques.
