"The planet is our home. Let's keep it clean!" campaign was launched in the Republic of Moldova. Let's keep it clean!”

An environmental protection campaign was launched in the Republic of Moldova, with the tagline "The planet is our home. Let's keep it clean!", financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Environment Program. The campaign aims to present young people with solutions for a sustainable lifestyle that will improve their health and help them save money.

The campaign aligns with the initiative of the World Cleanup Day, marked this year today, on September 17, as well as with the policies being developed in the Republic of Moldova.

World Cleanup Day brings together millions of volunteers, governments and organizations from 191 countries to discuss the global problem of waste and build a more sustainable world.

Moldovan officials, representatives of diplomatic missions, civic activists and young people will organize major clean-up actions in their localities, thus sensitizing public opinion on the problem of waste and supporting the global ecological movement. Also, the campaign "Our planet is our home. Let's keep it clean!” resonates with the messages of World Car Free Day, celebrated on September 22.

In the Republic of Moldova, proper waste management and sustainable mobility have been identified as areas that people can support to minimize environmental pollution. It was estimated that each person generates over 300 kilograms of waste annually in the country.
