MAI launches "Safe Autumn" operation
The Interior Ministry (MAI) today launched the national crime prevention operation, with the slogan "Safe autumn!".
According to the Interior Ministry, the main purpose of this operation is to improve the reaction time on several segments regarding the prevention and deterrence of violations and crimes.
Three subdivisions of the Ministry will be involved in this campaign: employees from the General Inspectorate of Police, the General Inspectorate of Carabineers and the General Inspectorate of the Border Police will form joint teams and work together for the safety of the people.
Police, carabineers and border guards, in joint teams, will conduct patrols in road traffic, will monitor compliance with protection measures against Covid-19 and will ensure public order and security to prevent crime - including cross-border crime.
The mixed teams will carry out patrols with different cars of the MAI subdivisions in order to prevent road accidents or vice versa, police and carabineers will be present at the border of the country in order to ensure cross-border security.
