The Minister of Defense, „The impact of the russian missiles is dangerous. It represents a violation of national sovereignty"

The National Army is equipped with radar systems that can detect and identify targets at different heights and different distances, said the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, during the program "Miezul Zilei", from Moldova 1. According to the official, any violation of the national airspace represents a violation of national sovereignty.

"The danger is quite high because we do not know the purpose, the direction of this target. Three targets crossed the territory of the Republic of Moldova, the eastern region, at different altitudes and different speeds. It is not clear whether these missiles have technical and tactical characteristics and cannot deviate from the course that was intended and cannot fall somewhere during the flight. The impact of these missiles is dangerous. We analyzed the directions of movement, the altitudes, and it was clear that they were not targeting us, but we are still analyzing what the impact would be on our territory".

The Minister of Defense stated that there is currently no danger of Russian forces reaching the territory of our country.

"The Russian forces are stopped far from the national territory, thanks to the courage and dedication of the Ukrainian people. Currently we are not targeted and there is no eminent danger to the national military security. But there are risks  and we must not deny them", said Nosatîi.

With reference to a possible nuclear attack from Russia, the minister declared that this would be "a crime against humanity", and the consequences would be devastating. He also mentioned that the state structures have self-notified about the use of weapons of mass destruction and are taking certain measures, such as informing the population and preparing bomb shelters.

"The army is preparing for the fulfillment of the basic mission for the defense of national integrity and sovereignty. We have trained and we will continue to train. The fact that you see different equipment moving to the places of permanent deployment at the military training grounds should not panic the citizens, but should increase their level of credibility towards the army and do not look at those who speculate", concluded the minister.
