The notary of the former PDM leader, Olga Bondarciuc, will stand trial
The notary of the former PDM leader, Olga Bondarciuc, will stand trial, the General Prosecutor's Office announces. This is accused on two counts. The first concerns the crime of forgery in public documents, in the interest of a criminal organization. The second charge relates to the presentation, knowingly, of false statements as a witness in a criminal trial, related to the commission of a particularly serious crime.
The incriminated facts were investigated directly by prosecutors, with the support of SIS officers. Thus, the law enforcement officers established that the accused notary acted in the interest of a criminal organization, to camouflage its criminal acts and create wrong leads in the investigations carried out in a file regarding the embezzlement of funds from the banking system of the Republic of Moldova.
During the criminal investigation, the accused did not admit her guilt, and after the extradition from Belgium this July, the Chisinau Court based in Ciocana ordered the notary to be placed under house arrest, even though the prosecutors requested the extension of the preventive arrest.
