Over 700 Ukrainian refugees employed in the Republic of Moldova
Over 700 Ukrainian refugees were employed since the beginning of the war in the neighboring country. According to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Marcel Spătari, about 70 percent of the total number of refugees in the Republic of Moldova are women with children, reports Radio Moldova.
"We expected it to be a larger number, however it is a longer time. However, it is possible that a good part of the refugees work illegally. Ukraine is not better in this regard either. And this phenomenon is widespread there. We realize that some of the refugees are elderly or with certain health problems and are mothers with children and even with several children, it is difficult for them to find a job. Moreover, there is the UHCR allowance which is per person and then if a family has several members it is an income that still allows you to support yourself", said the minister.
We remind you that since the beginning of the invasion by Russia in Ukraine, over 500 thousand Ukrainian refugees have transited the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
