Working group addresses the issue of street children
Intervention methods in the case of street children and the recent cases involving street children that happened in Chisinau and in other settlements in Moldova were discussed at a meeting.
According to a press release of the Government, several recommendations for intervention have been made, including the need to create non-stop services to help street children. Special emphasis was put on the need to include minors in rehabilitation programs as well as psychological counseling.
In this context, it was proposed to convene the next meeting by the end of December, during which the officials will report on the actions taken.
Also, specialized institutions will identify concrete steps to find best solutions for street children.
The organization of the meeting was backed by UNICEF as part of the technical assistance project granted to the State Chancellery.
