Poet Petru Carare dies
The Moldovan poet Petru Cărare died this morning.
This was announced on a social network by Vasile Şoimaru, former deputy and signatory of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
" Petru Carare died this morning. Personally, I did not know a more courageous poet among the Bessarabians after the World War II. Let God forgive him and rest him in peace", wrote Vasile Soimaru.
The writer Petru Cărare was a poet, prose writer, publicist and playwright, known especially as a writer for children, but also as author of parodies and epigrams. Petru Carare was awarded the "Mihai Eminescu" Medal, the "Order of the Republic" and the honorary title "Master of Literature". In 2000 he won the National Literary Prize. Carare was born on 13 February 1935 in the village of Zaim in Causeni district.
